It took me 4 hours to cut out the pieces from the pattern and get those pieces lined with interfacing . . .

It took me another 3 hours to sew the pockets, the pleats, and the top band together . . .

At this point I was 3 steps behind the other girls, it was late, and I knew that there was no way I was going to be able to sew straight enough to finish the bag and have it look good. So, I dropped off the bag at my mom's (expert seamstress) and begged her to help me.

My mom finished the bag (in what I think was probably under an hour) and it looks perfect! Thanks mom! Next time I will try to pick a project that I can finish.

So cute! I have taken up sewing! Just little skirts for the girls and it is kinda fun. The nice part about a skirt is that you cant tell if it is straight or not. This turned out so good, and I love the colors that you chose.
I love it! I am sad I was not there to do this girls night with you guys, but your finished product is gorgeous!
I wish I could have been there to help you with the bag...glad you had your Mom! How are things going? Is Stella any better? Anything working for her screaming at night? I hope it is getting better. That is so hard! I miss you so much! I loved looking at all the updates, so fun! Your girls are beautiful! Growing up!

Honestly I would have quit at 'let's have a girls night out and sew bags'. Yeah, that would have ended it for me-I'm impressed you stuck it out for 7 hours-and I had no idea that your mom sews so well! Seriously that bag is adorable-and good work on the cutting and picking out the fabric and such :o)
That turned out so cute! I have yet to even get started, but hopefuly I can get it done and put it to good use. I love your fabric.
Turned out great!!
It's so pretty. I have this itch to buy a sewing machine and get my act together. But I'm one of those people who would spend more money trying to make my own things. I love all that Japanese fabric out there. (Do you know purlsoho.com?)
Nice job.
